Here in Australia, Autumn has just began cover us in a blanket of golden leaves. The nights are seem so much longer and I find myself shopping for cosy winter boots. It’s not so much that I like shopping for shoes, but rather I’m currently 4 months pregnant with our second child and my feet have already began to swell.
I can feel it already, I’m just whipping you into a stamp buying frenzy, aren’t I? Sorry. I just felt that I should set the mood for this current layout.
This layout makes me think of lazy, long sleep ins in bed. Under a giant pile of homemade quilts. Only to emerge for a calorie dense brunch that holds you through to a slow cooked casserole that evening. And if that’s your interpretation of this layout then your not far wrong either. The layout is about pancakes in bed before Eva was born. Gosh it seems like such an age ago.
I used a beautiful 12×12 floral paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection as the base for my layout and then added layers with a splash of watercolour paint, a few strips from the 6×6 pad from the New Day Kit and some ‘rustic’ stitching. Which if we’re all honest here, is just the same as my regular stitching. I couldn’t sew a straight line to save my life.
I used the Basic Borders Arrow Stamp to add directional flow to the layout, before going a little nuts with embellishments. There are veneer butterflies, chipboard shapes, stickers, buttons and transparencies – Oh My! The Reflection Collection is so full of goodies.
I must admit I utterly astounded by the versatility of Altenew Kits. Not only because of the plethora of layouts I have managed to create with just one collection. The scrapbooking team as a whole do such a good job of making them shine. Then there is the card team too. It really does blow be away.
