In today’s video you’re going to learn to create backgrounds and cute embellishments for scrapbook layouts. And for all your other papercrafting projects too. Take your creativity and your do it yourself skills to the next level.
A warm welcome
Hello and welcome to a video tutorial on the Altenew Scrapbook blog. It’s me, Sandra. I’m one of the new members of the Altenew Scrapbook Design Team. And I’m sharing a do it yourself inspiration with you. In the video tutorial you’re going to learn how to create a cool background with the Splatter Stencil and the Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray. And you will also learn how to make cute embellishments with the Ori Kami Stamp and Die Bundle.
Two premieres before the video starts
You are witnessing two premieres today. First of all, this is my very first post on the Altenew Scrapbook blog. And second, I’m also sharing my very first video tutorial ever. Isn’t that awesome? I’m so excited about this. Before you can jump right into watching the video, let’s look at the layout first.
About the layout
The layout shows a photo from a Depeche Mode concert during their Global Spirit Tour. I attended the concert with a friend in Germany in May 2017. Since the tour title is Global Spirit Tour, I used different design elements. Because I wanted to convey the title in some way on the layout. Hence, the background made with stencil and green ink resembles the surface of the earth.
In addition, I aligned the title to give the impression of showing a globe on the layout. Finally, the animals symbolize the spirit and the touring of the band around the globe.
About the video tutorial
In addition to hearing me say washi tape stripes instead of washi tape strips, I’m hoping that you will learn two new fun ways to create backgrounds and embellishments for your creative projects. You can watch below on YouTube in HD.
Last but not least
You are free to create your own layout with different designs. And I’m hoping that you will enjoy using the two techniques.
Thank you for stopping by today.
Have a great day. Your’s Sandra
