Our Family and Reflection Scrapbook collection mini book

by Lilith Eeckels

Hello Altenew fans. Today I’m sharing a project I started working on a couple of weeks ago and then I left it to one side. When I got the new collection I knew it was time to finish the mini book and I am so glad I waited because I got the combine both Altenew scrapbook collections.

I used two 12*12 sheets of patterned paper from the Refection Scrapbook collection and created scored 3 sections creating three 4 inch panels. At the bottom I used a craft knife and cut 4 inches along each scored line. This created 3 flaps which I folded up.

Once I had folded both 12”x12” patterned papers I glued them together to create and accordian style mini book. You can add more pages if needed. I created a cover by cutting a 8″by 8″ piece of patterned paper (I choose a lovely woodgrain effect one from the Reflection Scrapbook collection) and glued the first and last page of the accordian to it.

All I had to do was embellish the pages and add photos.

In the photo above you can see the first page when the mini books opens.

The next page has the folded flaps which I mentioned earlier. If you prefer not to have these folded pieces, you could just fold a 12″ by 8″ piece into three. I liked the ideas of little flaps which I could tuck embellishments or photos into.

The left part of the this pages opens up to reveal the 3 sections.

Embellishments:

The embellishments I used came from Our Family Scrapbook collection and I created my own flowers using the following stamp sets:

The flowers  were made with the Smile More stamp set.  I colored them with altenew crisp inks and cut them out by hand but you could use the coordiating die. (Smile More die set)

The leaves came from the Totally Tropical Stamp set   .

My sentiments came from the tiny Vacation stamp from the Relection collection and I also used the Charmed Stamp set which is one of my favorites.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you would like a step by step video showing how to create the mini book, leave a comment in the comment section and I’ll make one for you.

Have a wonderful Friday and happy scrapping.
