Hello all! Terhi Koskinen here with a fun, mixed media scrapbook layout made with limited products last week at Creative World in Frankfurt.
No matter where I am and what I’m doing, I always find myself doing something with my hands, if possible. So last week, when we (me, Lydia Evans, Nabil Rab and Sandra Dietrich) were showing and selling Altenew products at Creative World in Frankfurt, I took a moment to do some crafting while I had a chance. At the fair booth, we had, of course, seriously gorgeous collection of Altenew products so I decided to take a couple of papers and start doing a simple, mixed media background with watercolors.
Since I didn’t have any gesso with me, or anything else to prepare the paper with, I did some stamping around the background and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The embossed wire pattern made the paper thicker – a clever way to stop the paper from curving when adding the watercolors.
We are launching an Altenew Watercolor Pan Set sometime soon and I had great time testing the colors out! You can see them all over the background! It’s so vibrant – lots of shades and tones – by using just two of the colors: blue and purple.
Once the background was dry, I drew some lines with a black marker and then added everything else: a photograph, papers, embellishments. That’s it! Quick, easy, and especially fun!
Never hesitate to try crafting with limited products, you’ll always come up with something! The most important part is just have fun and enjoy what you’re doing!
Thank you for stopping by!
