Build-A-Flower Blog Hop + Giveaway

by May Sukyong Park

Hello, Altenew fans!

I hope you are enjoying the Build-A-Flower Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from Jennifer McGuire’s Blog, then you are right on track. You can also start the blog over on the Altenew Card blog if you have missed a couple of hops. The full list can be found at the bottom of this post.

I created two projects for this hop. You can see one here and the other is on my personal blog. I decided to create cards for this hop and I really want to improve my card making skills.

@lilitheeckels

For this card, I used the Build-A-Flower: Sakura set. For the inks’ colors, I opted to use the Pocket Full of Sunshine Ink set for the flowers and for the leaves I went with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen.

I created masks for both flowers sizes and stamped the flowers first using the different shades of yellow. Then I added the leaves, the sentiments, and three enamel dots to create flow. To make the card pop a little more I mounted the white cardstock onto some dark grey textured cardstock. The yellow colors stand out a lot more.

Love how much thought goes into your detailed layering flower stamp sets. Also worth mentioning is the types of fonts you use for your sentiments. They are easy to read, not too cutesy and beautiful sentiments. Thank you for that. So many fonts are too “young” for my taste. Will be purchasing one of the sets above and saving for more in the near future…. should buy stock, lol
