Video: Garden Silhouette

by Lilith Eeckels

Hello, Altenew Fans.

Today I’ll be sharing a sweet layout that I created for a photo that dates back 6 years. When I scrapbook I use whatever inspires me. Here, I picked out the Garden Silhouette Stamp and Die Set and paired it with the Mandala Die, and a sentiment from the Say Cheese Stamp Set.

@lilitheeckels @altenewNow you might think, why use pretty summery flowers with an autumn photo? Well, just because I like it. I know some people like to keep themes together but I focus more on the memory and my creative process. I just want to have fun.

I started by stamping the flowers with a very light color (I used the second generation stamp). Then I colored them using watercolors. This is such a fun and relaxing process and if you are scared of watercoloring, this is a great way to start.

@lilitheeckels @altenewTo set off the photo, I cut out the Mandala shape with the Mandala Die and popped it beneath the photo. It adds depth and detail.

For the title, I used the Botanical You Stamp and Die Set.

The sentiments from the Say Cheese Stamp Set added some contrasting blue (I used the Dusk Crisp Dye Ink).

Since I had some leftovers, I created a simple card. I mounted the YOU letters on some darker cardstock and then created a bouquet.

@lilitheeckels @altenewYou can see how the layout came together in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.

TIP:

If you don’t have watercolors, you can also use your Altenew inks. They are great for watercoloring too!

Thank you for stopping by and happy scrapping.
