Hello, Altenew fans!
It’s Zinia here and today I’d like to share with you a fun mixed media project I created using some of my favorite Altenew products. Today’s project is an art journal page using both stencils and stamps.
The first step is to add some color to the background. I used the Halftone Stencil to do some ink blending using Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxides. Then I went over the stenciled image with some Antique Linen and softened the circle pattern. I repeated the same process a couple of times to add more depth to the design.
When I was happy with the result, I added a spritz of water to activate the Distress Oxides and make my colors even softer.
The next step is to add some stamping. I used Cosmic Berry and Puffy Heart to add a few flower images from the Painted Flowers Stamp Set. To color the flowers, I used my Pure White Ink Spray and I added some rough brush strokes over each flower.
I also used the Pure White Ink Spray to add a few white splatters around my page for extra interest. I really love using this spray for splatters over colored areas cause it’s really nice and opaque, providing great coverage.
To finish off the page, I added a quote from the Sentiments & Quotes Stamp Set using Purple Wine Crisp Dye Ink. I also did some second generation stamping for the quote to make it fade into the background and blend in with the soft theme of the design.
So that’s it for today! I really hope you got inspired to get messy and create a beautiful mixed media page using your favorite Altenew stamps and stencils.
Until next time! Happy crafting!
