Stamp Focus: Leaf Medallion + Video

by Lilith Eeckels

Hello and welcome to another day of Altenew design inspiration. Today, I’ll be sharing three projects that I created with the Leaf Medallion Stamp and Die Set.

The Leaf Medallion Stamp Set is such a versatile set and can be used in many ways. In today’s Stamp Focus, I’ll be showcasing three projects I created. I cheated a little with my card as although I used the sentiments from the set I didn’t use the beautiful leaf image but opted to use the die.

@lilitheeckelsFor my first project, I created a focal point using the Leaf Medallion Stamp and the coordinating outer die. I used the Tea Party Crisp Dye Ink Set to create a soft, peachy red centerpiece.

@lilitheeckelsI added a flower that I cut out from a patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection and used the word CAPTURE from the Super Script Scrapbook Stamp and Die Set. Some stamped sentiments and a couple of washi tape flowers added the finishing touches.

@lilitheeckelsHow to:

  1. Choose an ink color combination of your liking.
  2. Stamp the Leaf Medallion image starting with the largest stamp and work your way in towards the middle. Lining up is easy as you just have to center the leaves between the stamped leaves from your previous stamp.
  3. Cut out the image using the outer Leaf Medallion Die.
  4. Create your layout using your Leaf Medallion image and some other pieces. I used a rose (hand-cut from a patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection) and some washi tape flowers.
  5. Add a title. I opted to use the Super Script Scrapbook Stamp and Die Set which is the perfect font size for the title on layouts.

Curious to see how the layout came together? You can watch the process in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.

For my next project, I used the stamp set once again but went with the different shapes separately. I used grey ink from the new Gentlemen’s Gray Ink Set. For a splash of colo,r I picked a chipboard flower from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection and I also added some wood pieces for extra detail and flow.

@lilitheeckels @lilitheeckelsA couple of cut-out petals add movement and flow. They also draw the eye towards the photo.

@lilitheeckels @lilitheeckelsI also popped a couple of stickers from the Envelope Stickers roll to break up the straight lines from the paper. I used three to create a second focal flow point.

How to:

  1. Use smooth white cardstock and stamp a variation of images onto it. Make sure to use different sizes. I used the Gentlemen’s Gray Crisp Dye Ink Set.
  2. Pick out a colorful embellishment to add pop and detail. I went for a branch with flowers which I cut out of some patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. Fussy cutting is currently my favorite thing to do.
  3. Add some details like enamel dots and sentiments.

You can see how the layout came together in the process video below. Or you can also watch it in HD on YouTube.

For my last project, I used a sentiment from the Leaf Medallion Stamp Set and combined it with the Leaf Medallion Die. To add color, I used the Watercolor Brush Markers to create a colorful background to matte behind the die-cut shape.
