January Guest Designer: Anna Komenda

by Altenew

Hello friends! Welcome to our January Guest Designer Post.

Today we have the lovely Anna Komenda and she is sharing a gorgeous project with us. Her work is incredibly beautiful! If you want to take a quick look, head over to her Instagram feed and you will be wowed!

Get to know Anna!

My name is Anna and I am a scrap addict. I started scrapbooking in 2009 as a way of documenting my new adventure – becoming a mom. It quickly grew into a bigger hobby. I discovered my passion for mixed media and painting; incorporating them into layouts and albums. Scrapbooking became a very important part of my life. I started sharing my knowledge by teaching live classes and creating my own YouTube channel. I met friends from all around the world and I no longer “get bored” with my life.

Anna’s “Be Happy” Layout

I am so happy to be back on the Altenew Scrapbook blog with another project made with their fantastic products. Altenew stamps are so pretty and unique and creating with them is inspiring and so easy. I decided to play with several stamp sets and a few embellishments to create this mixed media layout.

I started with stamping a few flowers and leaves using embossing ink and the pretty Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I just love the quality and true “rose gold” color of this powder. I was looking for the perfect one for a while and it was exactly what I needed. The next step was to paint my flowers using shimmering watercolors.

After my flowers were done and ready to be used as embellishments, I created my mixed media background. I started with a watercolor paper sheet and some watercolors. Once the first layer was dry, I added fun dots using the pretty and versatile Watercolor Dots Stamp Set and pink ink. I also added few rose gold accents using embossing powder once again.

I was finally able to build my composition. I layered my flowers along with the photo and added some leaves and florals cut out from gold, metallic paper. My title is a mix of a wooden element covered with rose gold embossing and letters cut out using Fine Alphabet Die Set.

If you are not good at imagining the whole process yourself, I recorded a process video for you. You can follow my steps and create a similar page. Watch it below or over on Altenew’s YouTube channel.

It was a great honor to be a guest designer over on the Altenew Scrapbook blog and I hope I inspired you to play with your pretty stamps. Thank you for having me here!
