Welcome to our October 2019 Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set Release Blog Hop post! If you just came from Maryam Perez‘s blog, then you are right on track. Feel free to start the hop over on the Altenew Card Blog.
Check out the unboxing video below for a closer look at the new metallic watercolors.
For today’s blog post, I decided to create a layout and its coordinating card with the new Metallic Watercolors.
These colors are stunning on white paper and also on darker cardstock. For my layout, I started by creating circles on the white cardstock using different colors.
Onto another piece of cardstock, I painted strokes of colors, which I cut out hearts from using the Halftone Hearts Nesting Die Set.
For my title, I opted to use the More Than Words Stamp Set. I love this set as the sentiments are a combination of fonts.
The embellishments are the die-cut hearts. I adhered them to the layout with foam dots that add dimension. Don’t be afraid to layer embellishments over the photo. This will draw the eye towards the picture.
You can see how I created the layout in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.
For my card, I used a heart I had as a leftover. I created a washed background with a gray-purple tint and added some gold watercolor paint splatters.
