Stamp Focus: All Things Orange

by Maryam Perez

Hello, friends! This is Maryám and today I’m going to be focusing on and sharing some ideas on how to use the gorgeous All Things Orange Stamp Set. This 6 x 8 stamp set features whimsical line art, including mountains, butterflies, flowers, etc., round silhouette, plus 10 inspiring sentiments. In addition, there is also a coordinating die available which works perfectly with the stamp set.

First Project “At Grandpa’s” – Scrapbook Layout

How-to:

Since I first saw the All Things Orange Stamp Set, I knew that I wanted to do a project featuring oranges so I grabbed my A2-sized Watercolor Paper Set and started creating my 8 1/2″ x 11″ layout.

I took the Embossing Ink and stamped the leaf image on my watercolor paper. Next, I grabbed the Antique Gold Embossing Powder and sprinkled it on to the paper and used my heat tool to melt the powder.

Next, I created a quick mask from a post-it note to cover the leaves and stamped the round silhouette using Butternut Oval Ink.

To color the image, I used my Watercolor Brush Markers and its refills. For the round silhouette part, I used Autumn Blaze, Fresh Lemon, and Paper Bag. And for the leaves, I used Lime and Moss. I started adding color in the border and then blending it to the center with the help of my brush. Later, I added darker colors to give more depth and dimension.

To add fun to the page, I adhered a strip of Golden Strokes Washi Tape on the left side. I also stamped butterflies, colored them with my Watercolor Brush Markers and added some glossy accents to get an epoxy look. In addition, I fussy cut some flowers from the 6 x 6 Reflection Paper Pad and added tucked them under the oranges.

Second Project “Floral Scene” – Card

For my second project, I wanted to do something different so I created an A2-sized top-folding card. This time, instead of creating oranges, I heat embossed the floral sprig image from the stamp set onto watercolor paper and used my Watercolor 36 Pan Set to color it.

I also added some Sea Glass Ink on a portion of the card towards the left side with my ink blending tool. Once I finished that part, I felt like the card needed something else, so I did the same as my layout and added a stripe of Golden Strokes Washi Tape.

For the sentiment, I used this beautiful and inspiring quote from the same stamp set- “Taking pains to remove the pains of others is the true essence of generosity -Abu Bakr As-Siddiqui”.

In the end, I stamped some butterflies using my favorite black ink, the Obsidian Pigment Ink, and as usual, finished by adding sequins and enamel dots.

Third Project “Sunshine” – Card

Last but not least, I have another A2-sized card. This time, I created a minimalistic landscape scene featuring the gorgeous mountains and clouds form the set.

To stamp the mountains I used, Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf Inks. For the clouds, I used Misty Morning from the beautiful Tranquility Oval Ink Set. And for the sun, I used Butternut Ink.

Since I didn’t want to have a white sky, I grabbed my Sea Glass Ink and, with the help of an ink blending tool, added color to the background.

Lastly, for the sentiment, I choose to use “Your love is like sunshine to my heart”. I also added some sequins and enamel dots as a final touch.

I hope you liked these ideas and inspire you to create something new! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below and I’ll be really happy to answer them.

Have a wonderful day!

Great projects. I like how the oranges look as well as the butterflies on the card. Great layers.
