Hello, Altenew friends! Welcome to our April 2020 Guest Designer post.

You are in for a real treat today! Our guest designer is not a newbie when it comes to scrapbooking – she’s been doing it for 22 years! Her love of paper crafting grew along the way and fast forward to the present time, she is now one of our amazing Altenew Certified Educators! Comment below if you have already been a fan of Rosie Neustaedter‘s work! Feel free to check out her Instagram page and YouTube channel to see some gorgeous project inspiration.

Get to know Rosie!

Hello, Altenew Friends! I’m Rosie Neustaedter and I live an hour from the Rocky Mountains in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with my husband, 2 adult children, 1 almost teen, and all of us cheering on the oldest out on her own as a mom of 4. I started scrapbooking 22 years ago when my oldest was born and, along the way, have discovered I love all things paper crafting. Altenew caught my eye from the moment they entered the creative space and I continue to be inspired by their creative products.  So much so I am now an Altenew Certified Educator

I don’t take as many photos as I did when the kids were little but now I have a little more time to make the layout special. I am so honored to be asked to be a guest designer and hope you enjoy my project!

Let’s check out her project!

I am using the Altenew Foliage Fiesta Creativity Kit for my layout and creating a special layout around a special photo. This is a photo from my daughter’s high school graduation photoshoot sharing her favorite musical group BTS.

First, I stamped Crystal Clear Embossing Ink on vellum paper and then covered separate images from Ornate Foliage Stamp Set with Golden Peach, Rose Gold, Platinum Embossing Powders, and heat set them with a heat tool. Then I die-cut them with coordinating dies.

I then stamped the images in Silver Lake Crisp Dye Ink on watercolor paper. After that, I started watercoloring them with the Watercolor Brush Markers – Tropical Fiesta Set.

Next, I cut, inked, and heat-embossed the ‘Hope’ from Mega Hope Die to create the focal point for the journaling quote. The quote is “Hope is passion for what is possible”. My daughter so wanted to see her favorite group BTS in concert but their visits to North America had been very limited. In the space of a year and a half, she has now seen them 3 times so her passion has been realized.

Lastly, I added some watercolor ‘splatters’ to the background and iridescent bubbles for some shine.

I have a video sharing all the details of how this layout came together and you can watch it below or on Altenew’s Youtube channel:

I have so enjoyed getting back to my scrapbooking roots with these Altenew products and I’m grateful to share a project with you as a Guest Designer. Thank you everyone and thank you Altenew!

What a lovely page with a beautiful and heartwarming story! Thank you so much for being our April Guest Designer, Rosie! We are looking forward to having you again!

What a beautiful layout. I loved your heat embossing the flowers on the vellum. Going to have to do some of that! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
