How-To Video! 3 Fun and Unique Ways to Use 1 Floral Stamp Set!

by Tania

Hi, friends!

Welcome to the Altenew Mixed Media Blog. Today, I am excited to share my first Design Team blog post and video tutorial. I’ll be sharing 3 fun and unique ways to stretch the use of your floral stamp sets!

I love finding different ways to use a product, so the Stamp Focus challenge was perfect for me to find new ways to use the Precious Blooms Stamp Set.

I incorporated this theme by also showing different ways on how you can use the matching Precious Blooms Mask Stencil as well. This set comes with a coordinating die set too!

For my blog post, I made three projects: two cards and a small tag book which you can keep as a reminder for yourself or give to someone to remind them of how special they are.

Affirmations Mini Tag Book

Instructions:

I knew I wanted to create a one-layer background so I stamped the larger flower stamp from the set on to the tags. Here, I used my stamp positioning tool to stamp the flowers at the top and bottom in Permanent Black Crisp Ink as I wanted to create multiple tags. Just in case I make any mistakes or if I want to use the leftovers in another project, I almost always make extras! I am a big believer in working smarter and preparing for future projects while I already have all my supplies out.

After the ink was dry, I used Coral Bliss and Pink Pearl from the Tea Party Mini Cube Set to stamp the details of the flowers. I wanted to give my flowers a vintage print feel so I didn’t stamp the solid filling layer of the flower stamp.

After I had finished stamping the flowers, I used the matching Mask Stencil for the stamp set and taped it down onto my tag. The masks can be used individually, but I taped them together as I wanted to mask off both the flowers. Next, I layered the Patchwork Kite Stencil on top and used a blending brush to apply Dew Drops Crisp Dye Ink through the stencil a little more than halfway the tag, being careful not to get ink on the flowers on the other side.

Then, I flipped the tag around, align the flower mask stencils with the other stamped flowers, and then align the Patchwork Kite Stencil over the tag and finished the blended background. As you can see, I ended up using three of the tags to finish my project.

Once I finished blending on all the tags, I die-cut some gold cardstock a few times with the Mega You Die. Next, I glued them to my tags at an angle. After that, I stamped positive affirmations from the Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set onto the tags with my stamp positioning tool. To finish the tags off, I added some Satin Gold Sequins to add some extra bling!

For more detailed instructions, you can watch how I made this tag book in the video below! Feel free to watch it on Altenew’s YouTube Channel HERE.

You Are Precious Card – Double Blended Background

I shared how to create this blended background in the video as well. This is a fun way to get your geometric stencils to do double duty to create more fun backgrounds.

Instructions:

This card was quite simple to put together. Using the Dew Drops Dye Ink with a blending brush, I applied the ink through the stencil on to my cardstock. Then, I offset the stencil over the inked background so that the lines intersected and then applied Aqualicious Crisp Dye Ink with a blending brush over the design. This gives a really cool 3D effect to your card background! Try out this technique with different colored inks to get different looks!

Next, I cut my cardstock panel down to my desired size and stamped my sentiment from the Precious Blooms Stamp Set. I attached the panel to an A2 card blank using foam tape.

All My Love Card – Masked Leaves

This was another simple but elegant card that was easy to put together thanks to the matching Precious Blooms Mask Stencil.

Instructions:

First, I randomly stamped one of the leaf stamps from the Precious Blooms Stamp Set on a cardstock panel with Permanent Black Ink and let it dry. Then, I lined up the leaf image using the coordinating mask stencil. After that, I lightly and partially applied Teal Cave Dye Ink to the tips of the leaves with a blending brush. Finally, I adhered this to an A2 card blank with foam tape and added a stamped greeting from Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set as well.

I hope that you liked my video and projects! If you have any questions or would to see any more techniques, please leave a comment below!

Take care everyone and have a great day!

Great video for the small tags. I like the tips on how to make many at once.
