3 fun projects with Stencils

by Lilith Eeckels

Hello, Altenew fans. What better way to keep our mind busy than to craft. I am always drawn towards to stamps and dies and I sometimes forget about my stash of Altenew Stencils. I should really use them more often as they are such fun. Today I’ll be sharing three projects I created with three stencils from our April 2020 release.

Project 1:

My first project is a layout. I wanted it to be simple. I used the Mega Bloom Stencil and added some strips of washi tape. I created custom embellishments with the Vibrant Spray Die Cut tape. I cut out sections of flowers to create my clusters.

I also used some of the new sequins to add a hint of sparkle. For my title, I used the word HELLO which was die cut from black paper and on to which I blended some Antique Gold Permanent Ink. I also got out my Label Love French stamp set to stamp a sentiment.

I really enjoyed creating this layout and although it is simple it still has a lot of detail.

You can see how I created the layout in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.

Project 2:

My next project is a card. It is so easy to whip up a quick card with this Floral Wallpaper Stencil. I blended in one colour making sure to darker it at the bottom. I used a large sentiment from the Watercolor Roses Stamp Set and added a strip of washi tape and three sequins.

Now I have another card to add to my box of cards.

Project 3:

My last project is also a card with a hand-drawn element. I loved the Mixed Sprinkles Stamp and immediately thought of a cupcake.

First I blended three colours onto my white cardstock using the Mixed Sprinkles Stencils. I moved the stencil in different directions so that some of the sprinkles would overlap.

Then I looked up how to draw a cupcake on the internet and drew one on some white cardstock. I coloured it in using my Artist Markers and cut it out by hand. Once I had my cupcake I popped it on to the layout and used the Label Love French Stamp to add a birthday sentiment. This is my favourite project. It makes me so happy.

How do you like to use your stencils? What is your favourite Altenew stencil?

Thank you for stopping by and happy scrapping.

Keep safe.

Great look at stencil use. Nice video on the process. I like the tip for turning and blending over the sprinkles.
